As I age, I’ve come to realize that life’s struggle for balance and equilibrium is a universal experience, one that we all share.
Moreover, the older I become, the more I feel it is impossible to reach balance and equilibrium in one’s life. I would compare it to trying to get the infinity. The harder we try, the farther we are to reach the aim. It is an endless task. No one will ever reach infinity as one tries to get balance and equilibrium in all aspects of one’s life. Whether we talk about broadly understood career, finance, financial stability, relations with one’s partner and family, developing one’s passion and hobby, or education, I believe we never reach the optimal balance and equilibrium in all aspects for an extended period (more than one month) simultaneously.
It does not mean we should give and do nothing.
I would compare it with seeking answers for many fundamental, existential, or scientific questions: whether there is life outside Earth, whether there are infinite numbers of other dimensions, whether there is an ultimate cure for cancer, or whether God exists, for example. We can never receive answers to these questions. Still, it does not mean we should stop trying to find solutions. Asking impossible-to-answer questions (e.g., regarding God) is another proof that life is a struggle. Even if we somehow manage to find answers and explanations, for example, whether there is life outside our planet or there is another dimension, the next hundreds of questions (some of them impossible to answer again) will arise.
In today’s post, I want to remind you and myself that we are struggling every day, which is a regular thing. While writing all these things, I also reminded myself that while struggling, we should remember who our worst enemies are – ourselves. Do not fight with other people, my Dear Friend. Fight for yourself, with yourself. Undoubtedly, thanks to doing it, you will win a battle called life.
