Low temperatures are getting closer.

March 18, 2026 by Adam Mazek

I wrote this text on the 28th of September, 2025. It was a day when I realized that low temperatures are getting closer.

In one of my posts from the past (“Rucking in 31 degrees Celsius,” to be more precise), I wrote something like this:

I am curious how I would be walking with a 37.5 kg load on my back and shoulders in freezing temperatures rather than during a heatwave.

I wrote the “Rucking in 31 degrees Celsius” post on the 6th of July, 2025. Indeed, while writing it, I had in mind that the next couple of weeks or even months, I will be walking, rucking, and doing street photography in high temperatures. Today, I have a completely different perspective. I know that during the next couple of months, I will be walking, rucking, and doing street photography in relatively low temperatures. Am I sad because of that? Yes and no. Yes, because I know that lower temperatures mean shorter daylight. Thus, I know I will be doing street photography less frequently than during the last few months.

Still, I am also enjoying it very much. Why?

It is because this Fall/Winter season will be the fourth one in which I will be walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures. I started doing it in Fall 2021. I really love this activity. Even tomorrow, when I expect to work even 12 hours due to the upcoming quarter-end close (please remember, my Dear Friend, I work in a broadly defined finance area), I hope to go out from home in the evening and feel the freezing air. It should be even seven degrees Celsius (45 degrees Fahrenheit), so it can be really cold. Still, I do not know if I will be walking outside during the next few days, as I am expecting a lot of work in my office job. Thus, probably, I will be focusing on writing and blogging.
