How could this happen that I hardly know anything about Maggie Reilly? At the same time, we hear Reilly’s voice in popular rock songs. These three marvelous melodies have accompanied me from the beginning of my conscious life.

About which songs do I think precisely? I mean songs like ‘To France,’ ‘Moonlight Shadow,’ and ‘Every time we touch.’ A Scottish female vocalist is singing all of them. For me, Maggie Reilly is not as known as other female singers. Kate Bush’s name seems to appear before my eyes much more often. What’s the reason for that? There is one belief. During my lifetime, I was perhaps confused by the fact that Mike Oldfield always appeared as a performer under two of three of the mentioned-above songs. Which songs? “To France” and “Moonlight shadow.”

The truth is that Maggie Reilly’s voice was the voice of Mike Oldfield’s band.

As for today, I do not know many details about their cooperation. The only thing I could say is that they undoubtedly did extraordinary work. The history of their collaboration is unquestionably something worth reading, getting to know, and describing.

Nevertheless, the solo songs Maggie Reilly performed are worth listening to. The “Every time we touch” song is one of the most magical songs I have ever heard. The last time I saw a video clip of this melody. Presenting childhood in a symbolic, magical way is an excellent concept. The childish fantasy shows a carefree, enchanting childhood full of riddles and odd places to play.

Indeed, while watching a kid in Reilly’s video clip, I probably saw myself at the age of seven years old.

I remember that all the surroundings were uniquely fascinating to me. Now, when I am thirty-four, I have the same childish feelings and curiosity about my surroundings. Thanks to photography, I can immortalize this curiosity for posterity. Thanks to Maggie Reilly, I reminded myself and got aware that a child still lives in my heart, soul, and imagination.

Thank you, Maggie!
