I am sure that one of the best ways to improve photography skills is to be inspired as often as possible. How can we do that? I will write about what worked for me. First of all, I reduced watching TV to the minimum. The second thing is that I continuously try to minimalize surfing on the internet. Social media, for example, is one of the biggest attention grabbers for me.

In general, I am sure that both: TV and internet are one of the leading distractors which halt developing our passion.

That is why I am still working on that to reduce the time spent on this stuff to the minimum. The same thing I would suggest you.

As opposed to the television and the Internet, I would encourage you to read the books. Personally, I love to read Dostoyevski, Lem, Seneca but also others book, connected with Art as a whole or just the photography. Learning about the masterpieces or the Artworks can truly inspire us. My favorite publishing house is Taschen. Why do I love to read about other artists?

We can often adapt experiences of other worldwide known Artists to our personal life and the process of our creation.

I am sure that reading literature is one of the best ways to be in constant inspiration.

The second kind of Art which motivates me in making pictures is the music. Most probably, we all love this activity – can you imagine life without music? When I hear my favorite songs, I always “feel the beat” and “get into the groove.” It is my passion, and often, while listening, the best ideas regarding photography are coming to my mind. Moreover, we can usually take inspirations from the biography of our favorite artists. We can learn from them the process of creating the Art. Who are my favorite artists? I will give you some the examples: David Bowie, Jim Morrison (The Doors), The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson or Madonna.

Last time I slowly try to discover for myself Chopin’s music, and I think it is a matter of time when I write something about the most famous Polish composer.

There are also other kinds of Art which can help you be inspired. These are the paintings, movies, poems, photographs, the philosophy lessons or even alchemy mysteries! I will focus on them in my future blog posts.

To summarize up, I recommend you to spend more time reading the books of your favorite writers or listening to the songs of your cherished singers. I am sure that you will gain thanks to that much more inspiration (which is necessary for us to keep growing in our photography way of life) than watching another wan stuff on a smartphone.

Remember, the more Art you get to know, the more inspired you become, the better photos you start to make.
