Last time I was thinking about manipulation. The fact is that most of the people manipulate. They do it, more or less, consciously.
In general, we can look at all my texts and photos through the prism of manipulation. Indeed, every frame which I published here is manipulation. Practically to almost all pictures, we could ask the following questions: Why did one take a picture of a given, specific object? Why were the images made from one perspective and not from others? Or, why the focus theme is presented on this particular background? A lot of my photos could look different and have a different tone than they have. It is the photographer, the one who decides what and how he wants to present the main subject.
Speaking shortly: it is the photographer who is the author of the photo. Thus, it is he who has the final say on the composition of the frame, its balance, exposure, parameters, etc.
We can manipulate not only visually but also interpretively. It’s the same with words. In general, each of us daily manipulates words, more or less, consciously. I am not an exception. I do it here on this web site, in my writings. Why do I write about one thing and another? Maybe I do not want to write about some topics? Are there themes that I already, more or less consciously, omitted? Undoubtedly yes. I know that a lot of TV or web site news manipulates the information which they provide to others. I do not want to be such TV news, which presents facts in the way as they want to be displayed.
Nevertheless, I know that manipulating information is something from which practically no one can escape.
Even our small talks can possess a lot of manipulative formulas. Such sentences are often told unconsciously. Thus, I want to stress, that manipulation is something from which no one of us will ever escape. Moreover, practically all photographs possess a hint of manipulation.
