MazekĀ App

May 19, 2018 by Adam Mazek

Last time I was dreaming not only of becoming a famous artist associated with Warsaw. I was also dreaming of creating the ā€œMazek Appā€ for IOS and Android. Today, a lot of people are continually scrolling on their iPhones and smartphones. Unfortunately, I am not an exception.

Most of us are oftenĀ thoughtlessly staring straight into the screen of smartphones. We are doing it like we would have to find something significant there.

Nevertheless, I think there is a low possibility that we will see something meaningful in our phones. For me, ~95% of the stuff shown on the internet is not worth reading. For the remaining ~5%, I do not have time. That is why I try not to scroll on my iPhone all day and night.

Of course, there are rare exceptions. For example, when I find an interesting article about the art, I always try to read it till the end, without any stops. Why? Because most probably, if I stop to learn something on the iPhone (in contrast to the lovely books), there is a high possibility that I will just never return to this article. Facebook undoubtedly will spam my profile with consecutive tonnes of links.

Why do I dream of ā€œMazek Appā€ for iPhones and smartphones?

I want my application to be an alternative to mindless scrolling. If people have to do something on their phones (a lot of people are already addicted to using phones), they could do something a little bit more creative. I see my app as a place where thousands of my photographs, players could treat as puzzles. The players can, for example,Ā try to stage some sets or collages of my photos. Of course, it is an initial idea, the starting point. Such a game could be done to boost the viewer’s imagination and creativity. Also,Ā in this game, a watchword couldĀ appear on the screen (e.g., ā€œMinimalism,ā€ ā€œGeometryā€), and then, the user would have to stage a set to this watchword.

What is more interesting, probably there won’t be proper and wrong answers. Setting collages with my images gives us practically unlimited ways to arrange these pictures as we would like to do it. The next idea is that the quotations would appear on the screen, and then we would have to choose images which best suits the quote.

All these things are my vision for the app.

What I need to do to do it, is, first of all, do another tonne of pictures so that I will be able to choose the of the best my images to the ā€œMazek App.ā€ Of course, possessing the ā€œMazek Appā€ is not the aim of my creative activity. The objective is to have fun as an incorrigible dreamer.

PS

This blog post is an exception regarding published photographs. Today I presented in a total of twelve pictures in four sets to make a visualization for you, my Dear Guest, what I mean by composing collages from my images. Eight photos from the above mentioned twelve I added earlier to the previous posts. The remaining four are the debutants on my website.
