I want to invite you to the “Mazek Live Performance” show.
No, this show will not possess the atmosphere of the great live shows, made, for example, by the legendary band Queen. There won’t be fans shouting and screaming. Moreover, there won’t be a crowd’s applause neither the noise heard in the neighborhood where the show takes place. During my performance, you will not see Freddie Mercury singing or Roger Taylor playing the drums.
“Queen’s” performance at Live Aid (Wembley, London) in 1985 lasted 20 minutes, but, in our hearts, it will live on forever.
The concert is regarded as one of the best rock concerts of all time. Back to “Mazek Live Performance,” this show will not have a similar atmosphere also to the Marina Abramovic’s performance “The Artist Is Present.” In my presentation, the viewer does not know that the artist is present. Moreover, I am not able to write when and where my performance will take place. The viewers don’t know if the guy with the camera is the famous photographer, criminal, or average no-name passerby. The viewers meet me accidentally. My appearance is just another fleeting and passing moment of their lives. They are passers-by for me, and I am passerby for them.
During my show, we can hear only the sound of the street, people’s talking, and the echoes of our minds. This echo I call to silence.
My spectacle is another usually moment in life. It does not have this kind of emotion and affection like Marina Abramovic’s performance, “The Artist Is Present.”
My show is indistinguishable. It is everywhere. We see it in our day-to-day activities. You have to halt for a second and analyze what you see. It surrounds us. It is in the cities and small villages. We can notice it by trying to understand what is imperceptible.
That is why I love street photography. I feel like I am on my live show, and I called it: “Mazek Live Performance.” (or maybe it would be better to name it “Mazek Freak Show”?). It does not matter. I want to have good fun while creating photo stuff and running this website.
