Last time I realized that I love mixing passions.
The fact is that I love walking, taking photos, reading, writing, and working on the computer. I allow all of these hobbies to mix—the final product you can see on this website, my Dear Friend. The truth is that I let my passions flow with each other. I hope to live with them until the end of the world.
I would say that my example is comparable to Pablo Picasso’s and Henri Matisse’s case.
Famous painters were collecting African tribal art. Matisse possessed a remarkable collection of African sculptures bought mainly in Parisian second-hand stores. Not only Matisse’s but also Picasso’s desire to collecting African art influenced his way of painting. In addition to many statuettes and masks, the numerous photographs of African origin archived in his estate tell us of a sophisticated preoccupation. One of the best examples of African art’s influence on Picasso’s creative approach is his painting “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon.”
I love Taschen books. I believe that my desire to collect Taschen books, about broadly defined art, also influenced my artistic approach. Moreover, I think that they influenced my artistic activity in a similar way as African sculptures made to the abovementioned famous painters. While reading, analyzing, watching many Taschen books made me ask myself a question:
Why can I not make similar books regarding my creative activities? I cannot wait for my whole life when someone wants to publish my works of art. I should do it by myself. Self-publishing should be the key to my artistic development in the future.
I think that publishing “Diaries” and sets of pictures (e.g., “Negation of the End,” or “Earth Wars”) is my milestone regarding taking a step forward regarding mixing passions. It is a moment when I can combine both walking, photographing, reading, writing, and working on the computer. While editing a subsequent edition of “Diaries,” I have a feeling of power over my life. Moreover, I merely feel that I am becoming a part of humankind’s history, step by step. Ok, enough writing for today. I must wash and take a walk with Kamilka, and with a camera in my hand.
