Money, part II

Why do I not take pictures on order for the clients, and I do not think about money while making all the images presented on this site?

I believe that the genius artist is the one who remains in the memory of posterity. Therefore, I think that my contemporaries’ evaluation of my work may be completely different than in future generations. And, I will be honest that the judgment of posterity is the most crucial thing for me. Paradoxically, I will never get to know how our descendants will judge my artworks.

Nevertheless, I aim to happen that someday many people will know that there was someone like Adam Mazek, who created a photographic work commemorating the memory of his brother Marcin, who died of leukemia.

The artwork’s name is “Farewell,” and you can find it by clicking here. This work is also a tribute to our beloved parents.

I believe that in all life, we should remember that the truth is clichéd. We should genuinely respect each other. We should talk and listen to each other. Let us not forget that in the whole of this world’s madness, the most important thing is a man and his right to live. It is how I would like to be remembered: as a man communicating the love of life with the use of photographs, often referring symbolically to my own experiences. How is money related to all these things that I wrote?

Money is somewhat a dark curtain that obscures what is essential in life. Of course, money is significant too. But, let us not lose our lives for wealth.

That’s why making photographs on order do not interest me. If I started to collect clients’ orders, I could not do what I love. And what about money? Today we can make money, tomorrow not, the day after tomorrow, we can become wealthy. Fluctuation is an inevitable part of our life. Thus, we should focus on who and what we love.
