I had a dream during the night between 5th and 6th of March 2019. I dreamed of a ready-to-made movie script.
The film occurs in a dark, hostile, future cyberpunk American city. I believe the megalopolis from “Blade Runner” would resemble this city. The film genre was undoubtedly a mix of noir, criminal, science-fiction, cyberpunk, and action films. The main character was a cop who had a strange obsession. He often sees a moment of his own death, a vision that haunts him and affects his daily life. He has a vision that someone (whose face is not visible but whose clothes are) is shooting at his left eye and killing him. During the action, the motif of one-eyed people often appears on the screens (e.g., on posters, in the shabby fast-food bars, or the cabs).
One night, our protagonist and his female partner from work are sent to the bank that was robbed a few minutes earlier.
Soon after arriving there, police officers notice the thief, who is dressed identically to the man who kills him in his tragic vision! This is when the film’s action begins and lasts almost until the movie’s end.
The main action occurs on the streets and in the strange, cyberpunk buildings of the unnamed American city. The protagonists chase the robber, but they cannot do that. The ending action takes place in an abandoned building. During this final scene, the riddle is solved. During this action, two policemen are being split. After chasing the gangster on the stairs, our male protagonist finally kills him. After the shooting, he sees the bandit as a totally unknown person. But, it is the moment when suddenly the partner of the gangster appears, dressed in the same clothes! He was waiting for the first robber from the bank in this hostile, old abandoned building.
The protagonist is starting to chase him.
The climax unfolds in a dark, eerie room, the lighting strategically placed to conceal the gangster’s face. The tension mounts as the scene plays out like a classic Western duel, culminating in the cop being shot in his left eye. His life ends in that moment of intense suspense. As the camera pans away from the protagonist’s lifeless body, the final scenes reveal a surprising twist. The protagonist’s woman-partner-from-work takes down the thief, but his face remains unseen. The audience is left to realize that the cop’s lifelong obsession with his eye visions was his last experience before death, and everything we saw before was a flashback.
After watching it at the cinema, my Dear Friend, would you enjoy such a film? I hope you will. Still, please remember that I wrote the “Movie script” post based loosely on my dream.
PS
I wrote a “Movie Script” post on the 5th of March, 2019. I decided to revive it after more than four years (I wrote the Post Scriptum part on the 2nd of October, 2023). Why did I not publish the “Movie Script” post earlier? After all, I remember that after waking up, I knew I had a ready script for Hollywood’s filmmakers. I did not publish this text earlier because when I returned to it after a few months, I realized it was less genius than I thought initially. Perhaps I was simply thrilled by my dream’s science-fiction vision.
