When I go out to do street photography, I never know what I will see before my eyes. Undoubtedly, it is a risk. That’s why I consider my photos as an adventure.
For me, each photo walk is getting out of my comfort zone. The truth is I’ve never been in a dangerous situation while doing street photography. I hope I will never be in such a situation. Still, I know that many strange accidents can happen to all of us. I wrote this text on the 3rd of February, 2023. It was a day when nothing serious happened to me. Still, I sometimes wonder whether the war in Ukraine and inflation in Poland can increase the number of crimes committed on Warsaw’s streets. It is not the case that I am looking and waiting for them. No.
Still, like I wrote at the beginning of this text, practically always when I walk and do street photography, I feel I fill my life with adventures, even if nothing extraordinary happens at all.
That’s why my photos are an adventure. Even though seemingly nothing happens in them and they often present still life, I know that doing them was occupied by an effort I see as an adventure. Street photography is risky. Many things can happen while doing it. Still, even normal going out to the house can be dangerous to all of us. We never know if the car will hit us or if someone will rob us. Going further, each action could be considered risky. After all, we can even choke while drinking water. That’s why I see not only my photographs as an adventure full of risk but also my whole life, even if seemingly it is a mundane existence. Ok, I will finish this writing. Tomorrow will be a new day, undoubtedly full of adventures.
