The National Independence Day in Poland we celebrate on the 11th of November.
Last time I realized that I commemorate it in my specific, rather unique way. How? Do I walk in marches with other people on Warsaw’s streets? No. Since 2016, for five years (I wrote this text on the 13th of November, 2021), I have done street photography during National Independence Day on the 11th of November. I believe that it is the best thing I can do for my beloved homeland.
Moreover, I think that patriotism has many faces. Being a creative artist is undoubtedly, one of them. I never dreamt of becoming a soldier and physically fighting for Poland and securing my homeland’s borders. It is not my way of living. I suppose that I am too peaceful to be aggressive to other humans. Still, I do not doubt that I have many things to offer Poland, thanks to my creative activity. I already wrote that I feel that I have a debt to Poland and all people who have died for this country. The truth is that I live in one of the most prosperous eras for Poland. I have no doubts that we, the usual people, are the ones who, thanks to working hard, made my homeland a developed country.
Moreover, another crucial fact in developing Poland is the help of the Western World, with the USA, European Union, and NATO at the forefront.
The truth is that paying taxes in Poland will not be my most significant contribution to my country. I believe that everything that I publish on www.adammazek.com will be my opus magnum and my main contribution to my homeland. That’s why I celebrate National Independence Day in Poland by doing street photography on Warsaw’s streets and writing new texts. I do not doubt that it is the best thing I can do for my homeland.
