Last time I got the idea of what could be (and, indeed, is!) a neverending occupation for all humans.
So what is the activity that will undoubtedly accompany people for the rest of our lives? I will add that humans are doing this occupation regularly. The first proof of this mysterious activity we can find in the Upper Paleolithic period. Hint: we are not talking about eating, pooping, or having sex. The neverending occupation that absorbs humans from the Paleolithic period and that will last until the final days of our civilization is looking at the sky. Indeed, the titled occupation consists of analyzing stars and constellations, and everything in the Universe. Because the Universe is infinitely large and the technology, optics invented by us is getting better, observing the sky is undoubtedly an endless, neverending occupation.
As far as I know, there is a possibility to explore, observe, and analyze the sky by surfing on the Internet.
We do not need to see clear, dark night-sky to be able to observe the Cosmos. Still, I believe that watching the night sky (e.g., perseids or the full moon) is one of the most astonishing activities that can happen to all of us. Luckily, humans will be able to do it until the end of our civilization. One of the curiosities about neverending occupation is that machines can observe and analyze the sky for us. The Hubble Space Telescope provides us the most amazing photographs that the human eye could ever attend. The fact is that I cannot wait to see the first pictures made by the HST’s successor. What is the name of this machinery? It is The James Webb Space Telescope.
I do not have to add information that observing the sky (especially when I am in my beloved home town Brok!) is a magnificent occupation. I believe that most people who can contemplate the night sky, even day after day, are not bored with this activity. The night sky is so magical to observe that probably only the blind do not do this.
