The Nikon D-90, a reliable companion, has become an extension of my arm. I don’t need a new, modern camera. I’m content with my Nikon D-90.
I wrote this text on the 14th of October, 2024. One day earlier, I realized that my Nikon D-90 was an extension of my arm. I wrote in yesterday’s post (entitled “At last!”) that my camera stopped working while rucking and doing street photography in the heavy rain. It was not working until the late evening of the 13th of October. I was so convinced that it was the end of my camera that I had been using since the beginning of 2012 that I started to search for second-hand Nikon D-90 cameras on the Internet. I even bought one (a cheap one: 400,- PLN [~100,- USD; ~93,- EUR]) with a 27k shutter count (my Nikon has a 217k shutter count, and I was assured that it is the end of this camera).
The truth is that I did not have to buy it.
After all, my Kamilka has a Canon, and I can use it whenever it is convenient. Also, I can afford to buy a new, modern camera. It would not be a problem for me. Still, I simply realized that Nikon D-90 is an extension of my arm. I do not want to learn how to use a new camera. I do not desire to do it. While thinking and writing about all these things, I sometimes think street photography is an addition to the walk.
I do not know whether I want to go out to take pictures or I want to take a walk (ruck) just for the sake of walking. By doing so, I do not see anything wrong in keeping the extension of my arm to photograph whatever attracts my eyes. I’ve never been fixed to new cameras on the market. I am not a technical guy who wants to know all the cameras that are on the market.
