I have always enjoyed listening to Nirvana songs.
Nevertheless, over the years, from elementary school to recent years, they had a depressing effect on me. Today (I wrote this text on the 2nd of June, 2024), it seems that the situation has changed recently. When I hear Nirvana songs, I often see pictures of myself. Now, these songs not only have a melancholy and soothing effect on me but also stimulate me to create something out of nothing. They inspire me to make something meaningful. I see and feel many common points between Kurt Cobain’s voice and what I see in my photos. Is there a particular album that helped me to again spark my love for Nirvana songs? Yes. It is the “MTV Unplugged in New York.” Of course, I knew all these songs earlier. Still, YouTube algorithms recommended that I listen to the whole album.
Do you know, my Dear Friend, what’s the best part of this story? It is a fact that YouTube algorithms were suitable.
I won’t write today about Nirvana, which is my favorite band. Still, it is one of the best. When I think that I was growing up when such bands as Metallica, Guns and Roses, Nirvana, The Offspring, and Pearl Jam were flowering, I have no doubts that I was growing up during one of the best moments for Rock music (the beginning of the ’90s). Of course, I know Nirvana and Pear Jam are more like a piece of grunge music.
Moreover, I know that with the so-called Black Album that Metallica released at the beginning of the ’90s, many ardent fans of Metallica started to depreciate the band. Still, I am not an ardent fan of Metallica. The Black Album is genius. I already wrote about their first four albums in the “Metal Feast” post. They are more hardcore. It is a fact. What about Nirvana? I recommend listening to the abovementioned album and cherishing Kurt Cobain’s voice.
