The last time I wrote about my good old Sony Vaio laptop.
Today’s text was written on the 18th of January, 2025. In my previous text, I wrote that I probably won’t have fixed Sony Vaio anymore, and I will have to recover data for quite a considerable amount (2000.- PLN [480.- USD]). Still, yesterday, I received a phone call from another ‘magician’ who repairs a laptop. It appeared he was able to fix the computer for 300 PLN (70 USD). Of course, I accepted the second magician’s offer and decided to repair my good old laptop.
How happy I am that I have my beloved Kamilka, who advised me not to accept the first offer of recovering data for 2000.- PLN, but to give a laptop to someone else.
It is always good to take advice from smarter people. Undoubtedly, once I get the Sony Vaio back, the first thing I will do is back up all the pictures that are stored there. Also, I will try to move all my Lightroom backup files to my new laptop (yes, it came to me on Friday). Undoubtedly, Sony Vaio will remain a substitute. But it will always hold a special place in my heart, not just as a tool for my hobby but as a part of my journey.
I hope this will be my last post about laptops for the upcoming years.
I would treat my post about the laptop as a curiosity. It shows that I do not follow trends of which laptop is the best one because, for me, the best is the one that helped me in my hobby. Sony Vaio did its job for many years, and now it seems it needs to retire. I am not a technical guy. This statement relates not only to laptops but also to cars, cameras, and smartphones. In general, all these things should be useful to me.
