Last time I dreamed that I would manage to publish more editions of my “Diaries” than Taschen published books. In fact, by writing about this dream, I want to state that I hope that my self-publication named “Diaries” will become my opus magnum.Â
Is it possible that I will publish, during my lifetime, more books than Taschen did? I have no idea. The fact is that I do not know how many albums Taschen already released. I doubt that I will manage to win with them. But, I have no doubt that my “Diaries” can become my artistic opus magnum. Is over winning Taschen in numbers of publications is the aim of my creative activity? Of course not. I do not want to chase anyone regarding numbers of published things.
Nevertheless, I believe that my attitude, thoughts, and dreams precisely show that I want to be as a prolific artist as possible.
Like I already wrote, I hope that my “Diaries” will become my opus magnum. The fact is that I’ve been regularly taking photos on the streets of Warsaw for four and a half years. During most of that time, I believed that my photographs would become my opus magnum. But during the period mentioned above, I started to doubt whether only pictures can be sufficient to become a part of the history of art. That’s why I started blogging. It was a time that I thought that maybe my posts (including photographs and texts) would become my trademark. But, after some time, I started to feel that posts on this website can also be insufficient to create my life’s work.
Do “Diaries” possess a chance to become my opus magnum? Yes, of course. I believe in myself and my skills. Undoubtedly, creating e-books can become my life’s ultimate work. What about you, my Dear Friend? Have you already created your opus magnum? I am still working on it, and I am planning to do it until the end of my life.
