I often discuss with myself the origins of the Universe here, on the www.adammazek.com blog.
Sometimes the Big Bang theory appeals to me more. On the other hand, quite often, the Universe seems to me infinite (both in time and space). At first glance, both theories contradict each other, but I have doubts also regarding this case. Who knows, perhaps the explosion, expansion to the unimaginable size, and then contraction of the Universe to an unthinkable small, dense, and heavy atom is an eternal, constant element and process of the cosmic cycle? Could the Universe be infinite? Wouldn’t it be a beautiful confirmation for something unimaginable to us, like endless time and space? One of my first works, named “Negation of the End,” somehow could also refer to these thoughts. When I think about the origins of the Universe, often one Metallica song echoes in my mind and, indeed, in my imagination.
I already wrote a post about this song and its name, “Through the Never.”
Undoubtedly, Metallica’s song, in a poetical way, describes many processes that occur in the Universe.
Still, we cannot understand all of them. It will be a remarkable and historic success for humans if they ever manage to stand foot on another planet, that is, of course, Mars. Still, the distance to Mars is nothing compared to the Milky Way size, without mentioning the whole Universe. Whether we manage to land on Mars or not, I am fascinated to read about the history of men’s conquering cosmos.
Moreover, I do trace information from the “Perseverance” Mars rover. Also, I cannot wait to see the first images taken by James Webb Space Telescope. The process of understanding the surrounding reality is one of the most outstanding achievements human civilization can experience. Even if we never solve the mystery of the origins of the Universe, we can always try to feed our minds and imaginations of how this could happen in a remote and distant time and space.
