Today (I wrote this text on the 5th of April, 2025), I took over 300 pictures in one photo walk.
Was I rucking? Yes, of course. I had 32 kg (71 lbs.) on my back and shoulders. Also, I took over 10k steps during a two-hour-long walk. How did I feel before, during, and after my walk? During the whole day, I felt great. After all, I slept for eleven hours, a rejuvenating rest that left me refreshed and ready for new experiences. After such a doze of sleep, my mind and body were refreshed and relaxed. I was ready for another journey, this time related to rucking and doing street photography. Was I walking in such unusual places? After all, I took over 300 pictures. I think most people take so many pictures, probably while in new areas or during vacations.
I am not one of them.
The truth is that I took over 300 photos on the streets where I was walking frequently in the past. To be more precise, I was walking in my beloved Mokotów district (this is the place where I live) and the WÅ‚ochy district. I cannot explain how I may be wandering through the same streets for the umpteenth time, and I am still finding objects to photograph. I don’t know how it’s possible. Undoubtedly, I felt a hunger for street photography. In my last text, I wrote that I worked very hard in the previous few days. Indeed, in five days, I worked seven days. I suppose it could be one of the reasons why, when I came out of the house, the mundane reality surrounding me started to be very interesting to me.
I would be the alien who had just landed on the unknown planet.
Still, I cannot explain why the same streets and ostensibly the same views interest me each time I walk there. Perhaps it was because each day seems to be the same for most of us, but street photography helped me differentiate these days. That’s why I know that each view during another day, even if seemingly the same, is totally different. And it’s these unique details that I captured in my photographs that keep me coming back for more.
