Last time I thought that I wanted to be a part of history. Nevertheless, I do not want to become such a part of my lifetime.
More precisely, I dream of being a part of photographic/artistic history. Many photographers inspire me.
For example, Eugène Atget made around ten thousand photographs in his life. Moreover, he did it at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. His effort should be considered titanic because it happened during analog photography. He eternalized Paris and its inhabitants with his work for all posterity.
On the other hand, for Henri Cartier-Bresson, the essence of street photography was to capture the decisive moment.
Many of his photographs became part of the genre’s canon, with people in the leading role.
Therefore, the photos of both French photographers have become a never-ending inspiration for the next generations of street photographers. I am not an exception. They inspire me practically all the time.
Thus, I dream of inspiring others, photographers of the future.
But, there is one thing that I do not understand. Why do you not want to inspire other photographers during your lifetime?
Undoubtedly, you would ask me, my Dear Friend. The answer is, as usual, not straightforward. The fact is that there are already people to whom I bring inspiration. Nevertheless, the point is that I do not want to become an artist-celebrity during my lifetime. In one of my posts, I mentioned that fame would not help me in my artistic activity. Today, I can go wherever I want, and no one is distracting me. While walking on the streets, I can focus on my core passion, street photography, without any disturbances. Thus, I want to become a part of history after my death.
