Perspectives for my nation

I had some thoughts last time about perspectives for my nation. In one of my previous posts, I have already written that we, the Poles, probably never had such a wonderful time in our history.

Ok, there was a period called the “Polish Golden Age,” in the XVI century, about which I will write shortly. In the middle of this century, the Polish-Lithuanian state covered almost ~1.1 million km² (~425 thousand mi²). Today, the area of my country is equal to ~325 thousand km² (~125 thousand mi²). Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (it was the official name of this country) possessed about 11 million inhabitants. Interestingly, the Polish nation was not the most numerous in this country. There were more Russians. Other minorities living in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth were Lithuanians, Latvians, Germans, and Jews.

It was one of the largest (next to Russia and the Ottoman Empire) European countries. Also, Poland was political, military, economic, and cultural power. It was the leading supplier of timber and agricultural products to Western European countries.

Nevertheless, modern Poland’s status and economic position are also regionally dominant. Many issues affect this fact. Maybe I will write about it in the future.

Today’s general situation in Poland is probably the best since the XVI century. I hope we, as a nation, will maintain this status for as long as possible. The fact is that both every one of us and every community achieves greatness by reaching out beyond ourselves. Similar things happened with Greeks during the Ancient Times, Italians during the Renaissance, and Americans in the XX-XXI century. For me, landing on the moon symbolizes being a successful American. Only when single humans and nations believe in themselves can miracles occur.

Thus, I undoubtedly believe in myself. I want to become a symbol of Poland’s magnificent cultural and economic development in the XXI century.

The fact is that if the perspectives and circumstances for a nation become favorable, in these nations, a lot of geniuses can be born. I hope to become one of them in a broadly defined art and culture. Thus, I believe that both my and Poles’ perspectives are excellent.
And what about you, my Dear Friend? Do you aim to become someone special for yourself, your nation, and, eventually, for humankind’s history?

PS

I wrote this post on the 9th of April 2019. The aim of this post is not to comment on yesterday’s ballot result. Why?

Because I do not believe in politics, I believe in humans.
