March 18, 2019 by Adam Mazek

Today I will write about my photographic graduation work, named “Farewell.” If you want to see this artwork, click here.

The truth is that while presenting this artwork during my graduation works’ defense, I was a little bit nervous. It happened on the 14th of June 2018. In the auditorium where the graduation works’ defense took place, there were schoolmates, the teachers, and the commission. Thus, I was not as nervous as I would be if there would be people outside the school. It is the right moment to thank all the people mentioned above for all the time spent together. Also, it is a proper moment to thanks for collective learning.

Nevertheless, today, I feel that much more stressing was publishing “Farewell” artwork on this blog and my private Facebook profile.

It was the time when I knew that this graduation work would reach many people whom I had known for most of my life. Also, I knew that some of them did not even know that I had a Brother. In general, I believe that artists who had already achieved some crucial notability in Art’s world had similar feelings as mine. I am convinced that those artists were also stressed out while presenting, describing, discussing, and discussing their intimate, personal Art projects. We’re all human. It is not easy to go public with your deeply personal issues.

Nevertheless, the fact is that art is a magician tool, which helps us to grow stronger, practically in all aspects of our lives.

If we want to be recognized as deeply sincere artists, we should not be afraid of presenting and talking about the traumas with which our artworks can be linked. We should treat this activity as the next enormous step in our artistic development. This step undoubtedly will empower you, my Dear Friend.

In conclusion, I want to stress that if you already possess, my Dear Friend, deeply intimate artworks, but for some reason, you are afraid of publishing them, do not be scared of that. People will not hurt you if you make public your intimate artwork. But, even if someone will try to offense your feelings, try not to feel them. Try to be like water. Try not to treat the attack as an attack. Lastly, remember that most of the other humans will merely start to admire you.
