Last time I was wondering whether I want to submit my photographic works to the photography contest.
The answer is not straightforward. Nevertheless, I decided that I won’t do that. Did I submit my photographs to competitions earlier? Yes, of course. I was doing it mainly on www.lensculture.com website, and, on one of the Polish photography sites (unfortunately, I do not remember which site was that). Which artworks did I submit to the Lensculture photography contest? One of them was Earth Wars. Are there any advantages of having won such competitions and being displayed on, e.g., Lensculture site? Yes, of course. They are quite distinct, and there are many of them. Worldwide recognition and taking part in exhibitions curated by Lensculture are one of them. I believe that being, e.g., a finalist of such a competition, can open the door to the broadly defined photographic/artistic career.
So why I haven’t been submitted my artworks to Lensculture for more than two years?
Because I am merely focusing on my blog. Moreover, I wrote it once, and I will write it one more time: I have doubts about whether an extensive career or becoming a full-time-paid photographer would influence my artistic independence correctly. The fact is that I am merely afraid that I will lose my creative freedom because I will do what other people want me to do.
Everything that I publish here on my website is something that goes straight out of my mind, heart, and soul.
By being famous, I am afraid that money could change my artistic attitude. Thus, I am still an accountant, and I am coping with my job in the office with my biggest passion. Is that mean that I will never take part in any photography contest? I think that it is a matter of time when it happens. Nevertheless, I have no idea when I do it.
