Today (I wrote the “Physical activity” text on the 7th of December, 2024), I will provide some insights on physical activity.
I wrote the “Physical activity” text after rucking (I wore a rucksack that weighed 22 kg [49 lbs]), doing street photography, and exposing my body to cold by walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures (it was 3 degrees Celsius [37 degrees Fahrenheit]). The truth is that within the last two years, the sports club where I can train Muay Thai (Thai boxing) was opened. I trained in this martial art in 2005. For today, walking and rucking provided me enough to fulfill my need for physical activity. Still, I wonder what will be within the next half or a full year. Sometimes, I think about returning to the swimming pool, walking to the gym, or doing yoga (I’ve never trained, but my parents, who practice yoga, genuinely encourage me to start exercising it).
The truth is that I think it will take some time to start a new physical activity.
It may be a matter of time. Still, for today, I can still increase the weight of my rucksack by 5 kg. I won’t do it within the next weeks or even months. That’s why I still have to prove to myself regarding rucking. This physical activity is still challenging for me. When I returned home today, after taking 11k steps, I felt tired. I felt the burden that was on my back and shoulders. While writing about all these things, I realized I was physically active most of my life. No matter if it was playing football (in the US – soccer), running, bodybuilding in the gym, or swimming. Regarding the last years, I would say I was focused mainly on walking and doing a dead hang on the bar in my house. These were my thoughts about sports activities.
