“Physical Graffiti.”

November 21, 2025 by Adam Mazek

Led Zeppelin’s “Physical Graffiti” album is one of the most tremendous albums I’ve ever heard.

In one of my previous posts, I’ve already mentioned that Led Zeppelin’s music helped me to strive and overcome all the pains, obstacles, and adversities while rucking. Rucking is a form of walking with a heavy backpack. Today (I wrote this text on the 1st of May, 2025), I had 32 kg (71 lbs.) of barbell plates on my back and shoulders in my rucksack. Today, I also realized I liked all the songs from the titled album on the YouTube Music app. The truth is that I was slowly recognizing, appreciating, and cherishing songs from the Led Zeppelin album. The same is true of all of Led Zeppelin’s songs.

The truth is that I’ve known songs like “Stairway to Heaven” or “Whole Lotta Love” since my early life.

Nevertheless, I do not understand how I could miss for the first forty years of my life (I was born in March 1985) such great Led Zeppelin songs like the ones from the “Physical Graffiti” album. Which songs do I mean? All of them. After all, as I mentioned earlier, I like all of them. In the beginning, I loved the first five songs of the album because the sixth one, “Kashmir,” was, for me, too familiar. I had similar issues with The Beatles or Queen songs: many of their songs were too popular for me, so I did not want to deep dive into their other, less popular songs.

Nevertheless, when I once listened to the whole “Physical Graffiti,” its energy simply blew my mind.

Such songs as “In the Light,” “Down by the Seaside,” “Ten Years Gone,” or “Night Flight” are real gems. I do not doubt that I will write something more, not only about the titled album but also about other inspirations received from Led Zeppelin. How happy I am that I can sing their songs in my mind while rucking. It gives real power! It is so fresh and musical.
