Prioritization.

August 17, 2025 by Adam Mazek

Today, I will write about the prioritization regarding my photo walks.

On my photo walks, I’m sometimes more focused on taking pictures, sometimes more on taking as many steps as possible, and sometimes more on getting a decent cooldown or walking with a lot of weight on my shoulders and back. I wrote this text on the 27th of October, 2024. It was a beautiful day in Warsaw. The St. Martin’s summer (in Poland, we call it the “golden Polish autumn”) hit my homeland again this autumn. While walking, I had many thoughts. One of them was that each new season equals new impressions. It is like the creation of the world takes place every season. Or, perhaps the creation of the world takes place with each new day, and we are reborn every time we wake up?

For me, it’s not just about the end result, but the joy of the process.

I believe having such an approach to life is a pearl of true wisdom. I try to do it daily and treat each day as a gift. Still, I wanted to write about prioritization in this text. Today, for example, I did “only” 9k steps (walking in the Wlochy district). Still, I did almost 250 photos. What does it mean? This means I do not have to take over 10k steps each time to take many photos. I believe some of the pictures from today’s photo walk are great. I will transfer them to a laptop in the future, and I hope to do so by the end of 2024. Why does it take so long? It is because, in general, I aim to produce ~6.5k photos. Then, I load them in bulk to my laptop and put them in a separate folder.

Uploading my photos to Lightroom is not my priority.

Regarding my photo walks, sometimes I want to simply walk as much as possible. Or, if it is cold weather (e.g., 2 degrees Celsius [35.6 degrees Fahrenheit]), I usually want to feel the cold air in my whole body. Since I started doing rucking on the 18th of August, 2024, I’ve been on a journey of personal growth, wanting to feel my muscles’ power. How is that possible? Rucking is walking with additional weight on your shoulders. I walk in with my rucksack with 12 kg (26 lbs) of barbell plates. It’s a physical challenge, but it’s also a metaphor for the weight we carry in life and the strength we gain from it.
