Today (I wrote this text on the 15th of May, 2024), I had some thoughts about prosperity.
I decided to share my observations about prosperity with you, my Dear Friend. Today, I was walking among others in the Ochota and Mokotow districts. The day was sunny and warm (20 degrees Celsius [68 degrees Fahrenheit]). While walking, daydreaming, visually analyzing mundane surroundings, and doing street photography, suddenly, thoughts about prosperity appeared in my mind. Most of the people I saw were well-dressed and seemed happy. Almost everyone was thinking about their cases. It was not a typical view of people hurrying in the big city. People were sitting outside drinking coffee or beer and eating various food. There were lovers, friends, and lonely people who also looked prosperous.
I know there is poverty not only in Warsaw but in the whole of Poland.
I know people are starving not only in my homeland but also in the whole world. Still, today, I saw mainly people who seemed content with their lives; they were well-dressed and looked like they lived in a developed (not developing) country. Indeed, Poland has already joined the highest league of the most developed countries. I hope war in Ukraine and any other country won’t prevent my homeland from economic growth. After all, there is no better view of smiling, well-dressed people who were simply enjoying simple parts of their lives, with consuming food at the forefront.
While writing all these things, I realized that Poland became a prosperous country during my life.
I witnessed the transformation from a post-communist country to a developed one, per broadly defined Western standards. I am proud to say that I, like millions of other people, have contributed to this occurrence. We simply devoted our energy and time to work and development. I keep my fingers crossed for Ukrainians fighting against the Russian trolls so that Ukraine will also become a developed country in the future.
