Movement and transportation always seemed the best symbol of an exuberant belief in progress. Race into space appears to be the most remarkable example of this.
Every time a new means of transportation was created, whether it was a wheel (I can only imagine it), steam locomotive, car, airplane, or rocket, humanity was in awe. Our dreams were fulfilled in people’s eyes. Why? Because every time a new discovery was presented, people could see themselves traveling to another city, distant land, continent, or even the Moon. Of course, I did not witness these moments. I know about them from books. While writing about all these things, I envision that the subsequent groundbreaking developments will be discovering spaceships to be able to carry humans to other planets or even start distant galaxies. I do not know who will win this race into space.
Undoubtedly not Russia, which moved itself to the country with the XIX century mentality.
Perhaps the ultimate goal of transportation will be the one that will drive people not only in space but also in time. For today (I wrote this text on the 16th of June, 2023), science does not deny that time travel is impossible. While writing about all these things, I was reminded of one thing. We dream of moving to other worlds in time and space, forgetting about one of the most underrated activities most healthy people can do: walking. While doing street photography, my favorite hobby, I always walk. I love to walk. I love the feeling of being on the move and observing my mundane surroundings. While doing it and stomping my feet hard on the ground, I often rock in the clouds, daydreaming of many things and imagining human civilization’s achievements, like race into space. This text is no exception in this case.
