The older I am, the more I feel my daily routine could look like this: read, ruck, write, sleep, repeat. Â
It’s a simple yet powerful rhythm that I’ve come to cherish. Each activity holds a special place in my heart and contributes to my overall well-being. During the last months, my weekends have often looked similar (which is excellent!). In general, after waking up, I read my books with a fresh mind. During the first hours after waking up on weekends, I do not take my smartphone in my hand. I take only books, with Taschen, Thames & Hudson, or Phaidon ones at the forefront. How long have I been reading during weekends? It depends.
I think the time varies between 1 and even 4 hours (e.g., during winter, I read for a shorter period, because I want to get out earlier to see the daylight to be able to do street photography).
After reading, I always want to get outside not only to take photos on Warsaw’s streets, but also to ruck. Rucking is a form of exercise that involves walking with a heavy rucksack. For today (I wrote this text on the 21st of May, 2025), I walk with 35 kg (77 lbs.) on my back and shoulders. I love this activity. It is an effort for my body to be on the same level as reading Taschen books in English. After returning home, I usually take a shower (often a cold shower). Then, if I do not have any additional things to do, I write something on my blog.
I love transforming my thoughts into written words on the same level as the two previously mentioned activities.
Finally, after a hard day’s work, I dream about sleep. During the weekend, I sleep between eight and even twelve hours. Sleep is the most potent way for my mind and body to regenerate for the subsequent day. That’s how I would frequently repeat my daily routine. Of course, I do not have to mention that I hug my beloved Kamilka among all these activities. I love you! How happy I am with you, and that during the next few days I will be able to do my routine: read, ruck, write, sleep, repeat.
