Reading my posts from the past.

September 7, 2022 by Adam Mazek

Last time I realized that reading my posts from the past can be an exciting experience.

When am I reading my posts from the past? It usually happens when I am preparing subsequent editions of „Diaries.” On the 25th of June, 2021 (it was a date when I wrote this text), I was preparing the „Diaries 04.2019 p. I” edition. I was amazed that in the posts named „Taschen publishing house” and „Designing a book,” I was writing about creating, indeed, „Diaries.” By reading and reminding all these things, I realized that creation processes are one great activity that happens practically all the time.

In this particular case, I would divide the process of „Diaries” creation into initial phases as follow:

  1. Reading all Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s books, including his self-published „A Writer’s Diary,” in 2013;
  2. Regularly taking photos on Warsaw’s streets since October 2015;
  3. Reading many Taschen books, starting from 2016 up till now;
  4. Creating the www.adammazek.com website in September 2017;

Later on, after mixing all activities written above, I started to prepare the first edition of „Diaries.” As a curiosity, I must report that first, I thought that I had to learn Adobe InDesign software to design and create the book. Luckily, there is a Visme App that helped me much in my creative activities. Thanks to this app, I did not have to learn InDesign because Visme is intuitive. Thus, I did not have to wait to learn new things as much as I thought, but I had to learn the intuitive application. This text is, undoubtedly, inspired, thanks to reading my posts from the past.

I wonder how many times I will be inspired by myself in the future.

I can only imagine how cyber-archeologists and art historians will cooperate in the future to learn, know and solve the jigsaw named „Adam Mazek and his creative activities.” On the one hand, I am helping by writing all these things. On the other hand, I know that I will remain a mystery to them. Why? Because each of us is a mystery.

PS

I wrote this text on the 25th of June, 2021.
