Once I heard that I should publish some photographs twice or even more because they are worth it. I agreed. Thus, from now on, I do not exclude making repetitions while publishing my photographs.
Does this mean that I do not have the inspiration to create new images? Of course not. I continuously produce new photos. Walking through the streets of Warsaw and finding new, amazing frames to be eternalized in my camera is my passion, which, I hope, will last until the end of my life. Nevertheless, if I find that a photo that has already been published will fit into the newly written content, I will boldly post this picture. Some of my images are good enough to be republished twice or even more.
Also, does it all mean that previously I did not publish some images for the second time?
No, I had already made exceptions, for example, in the post “First Anniversary.” Probably, they could also be some repetitions made accidentally. But, from now on, I will be re-publishing my photographs consciously. I believe that there is nothing wrong with such doings. Famous artists also made repetitions. They were doing it regarding motifs in their artworks. One of them could be found in, for example, Salvador Dali’s paintings. Famous Spanish master painted grilled bacon, a loaf of bread, or ants many times throughout his life. On the other hand, Vincent van Gogh liked to repeat the motif of the oil tree.
I am sure that these examples are only the tip of the iceberg, and there are more examples in the history of the art of an artist who made a lot of repetitions.
While writing texts, I also make some repetitions. The reason for this is identical to the one that I will start to make repetitions in publishing my photographs. Some plots are merely worth repeating. But, contrary to pictures, I do not plan to “paste and copy” previous texts, but I repeat some plots or motifs in my posts.
PS
Photographs published in this post are not repetitions. I will be re-published images only if it will make sense.
