Rucking after 10 days of break.

December 28, 2025 by Adam Mazek

I wrote this text on the 25th of June, 2025, after rucking after 10 days of break.

How do I feel? I feel a surge of joy. I reminded myself how hectic and tremendous the activity of rucking was. The truth is that I do not need to mention that I was not rucking because, together with my beloved Kamilka, we were in the Latvian seaside town of Liepaja. While on the Latvian vacation, I forgot about intermittent fasting, avoiding drinking alcohol, eating processed food, and rucking. Still, after seven (or something like that) days without rucking, I remember that my organism felt it was missing something. Yes, I missed the hectic effort that rucking provides to my body. Today, I felt this effort after 10 days of break.

Even though the weight I carried on my back and shoulders was 10 kg lighter than my record weight (37.5 kg [83 lbs]), all my muscles hurt me while writing this text.

I reminded myself that I have these muscles. If you do street photography, my Dear Friend, I genuinely recommend you start rucking. Start with truly light weights (e.g., two bottles of water in your backpack). Do not be afraid of additional kilograms and your back and shoulders (but of course, do not start with 20 or 30 kg on your back and shoulders).

The next walk with an additional weight on my back and shoulders I will have within the next three days due to my office job. I think I would increase the next walk by 5 kg and the next one with an additional 5 kg, so that I would return to walking with my most enormous weight after three walks. Keep your fingers crossed for me, my Dear Friend. I hope I will shortly return to my optimal form after the 10 days of break. I think I am addicted to rucking.
