Between the 11th and 16th of September, 2024, I was rucking and doing street photography for six days in a row.
I did not do it to break my previous record when I was rucking and doing street photography for five days in a row. I did it because I wanted to simply take pictures on Warsaw’s streets. The fact is that Autumn is slowly coming closer. In September, days are getting shorter and shorter compared to days between June and August. The season of walking and taking pictures on Warsaw’s streets straight after my work in the office slowly comes to an end. Still, I feel an irresistible need to do street photography.
Thus, I want to do it practically daily.Â
The truth is that since I started to ruck (rucking is walking with a heavy rucksack – I put an additional 10 kg [22 lbs] of barbell plates into it), my photo walks became a challenge compared to walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures. It hurts. I wonder how it will be to walk with heavy barbell plates in freezing temperatures wearing summer clothes. The truth is that I cannot wait for this challenging task! I wonder how many people tried to do such things before me.
While writing all these things, I googled the topic of rucking.
It is clearly said that beginners can lift from 10% to 15% of their total body weight. As I weigh 80 kg (176 lbs.) I can add an additional two kilograms (4 lbs) so that I can walk with 12 kg (26 lbs) of a heavy load. Twelve kilograms will be precisely 15% of my total body mass. I think I will start doing it during the next few days. I cannot wait to increase my backpack’s weight! In rucking and doing street photography, I trust! By the way, I must mention that I am 180 cm (5.9 feet) tall.
