Sometimes I do not know in what world I am living. How is it possible that for the first 34 years of my life, I have probably never heard a single Rush song?
Rush was a Canadian progressive rock band established in 1968. “Tom Sawyer,” “Subdivisions,” “Spirit of the Radio,” and “Limelight” are fantastic rock songs that I listen to with great pleasure. They were released between 1980 and 1982. While writing this post, I wonder why Polish radio stations do not play all these songs. In some auditions, they were played, but I do not know why I haven’t heard anything about this band. There are a lot of popular progressive rock bands. I will give examples: The Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, and David Bowie. Songs performed by mentioned-above bands and artists have been played on Polish radio stations since I remember (I was born in 1985).
Moreover, there were a lot of anniversary auditions focused only on the specific rock band.
Of course, it was tremendous that we all could hear songs made by the artists mentioned above. But, I still cannot understand why Rush wasn’t much involved in Polish radio stations’ repertory.
I was informed about the existence of such a rock band by an artificial intelligence named YouTube. This is not the first time this is happening. For example, one of my artistic works, “The Wall,” was also inspired by AI. “The Wall” was shown in my second photography exhibition, which took place in Warsaw in May 2019. Artificial Intelligence can prove to us that it can severely threaten people. At the same time, it can give marvelous inspiration. On the other hand, Rush demonstrates that we all can receive unbelievable stimuli from other humans, such as rock bands.
