Sometimes I think about this world as a battle between one’s self-destruction vs. self-construction. Indeed, it is a battle between good and evil.
For most of my life, I believed that human is a self-destructive organism. Now I think that, in general, we all have a choice in which way to go: the one connected with self-destruction or self-construction. Also, I believe that many people, unfortunately, are choosing the form of self-destruction. I think that they do it somewhat unconsciously. But how do they do that?
For me, one of the keys to solving this issue is alcohol.
I will not write about other people, but I will write about myself. There was a time when I was drinking beer regularly for almost all weekends. Maybe the amounts of drunk alcohol were not as significant as in other’s people weekly habits (especially in Poland), but I was doing it quite often. Now I know that alcohol makes us lazy and obscures everything around us. Also, using drugs is one of the surest ways to self-destruction.
On the other hand, creating art is one of the best ways to give up alcohol. Indeed, art opens our eyes, view, and imagination. It teaches us a lot. We can learn from it almost daily. Of course, there are a lot of forms of self-construction (we can find them in religions, sciences, sports, etc.) Still, my way is creating art.
I do not drink alcohol anymore. I do not want external factors to make me stop self-developing. Every day is a chance. Please wake up and create something, my Dear Friend. Creating inspiring works of art is one of the best things humans can do to inspire others to start self-construct.
To summarize: I encourage you, my Dear Friend, to construct yourself today. Do not wait for it till tomorrow. There is no better way to start creating art than today.
