This text won’t be about Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie “Shadow of a Doubt.”
Today I will write about the shadow of a doubt regarding my artistic activity. Whenever I have doubts whether what I do, that is, walking in cold temperatures in only www.adammazek.com T-shirt, makes sense, I try to recall the words of two of David Bowie’s songs. I already wrote about these tunes in the past. One of these songs is “Rebel, Rebel.” The lyrics that come to my mind while I have a shadow of doubts regarding my activities are as follows:
Hey babe, your hair’s alright.
For me, it means that being different and imperfect is something unique and OK. We should not worry about what other people will think about us. The other Bowie melody that I often recall is “Changes.” To be more precise, if I have doubts about everything I do, with walking in coldness in only a t-shirt at the forefront, I remind the chorus of the “Changes” song:
Strange fascinations fascinate me.
I have no doubt that people who see me think I am a weirdo. First of all, I take pictures of mundane, boring places. Secondly, I walk in a t-shirt when it can be even +2 degrees Celsius (35,6 degrees Fahrenheit). Last but not least, my t-shirts can be seen as strange ones. I have, for example, a t-shirt where we can see a tree-shaped-phallus. Or, we can spot ahead of Madonna (without the rest of the body) lying in a wayside shrine. Did I get crazy? Perhaps. I believe that the similar we could say about David Bowie, whose odd creations could be regarded (and, indeed, were!) as someone who had lost his mind. I believe that future generations will judge me fairly. For today, I focus on all my weirdo-creative doings. Still, if the shadow of doubt appears in my mind, I will again recall Bowie’s songs.Â
