Most of us love to travel. I am not an exception. Nevertheless, the strange thing comes to my mind, practically after coming back from every sightseeing.
What is this extraordinary thought? It is a fact that I often possess a need to see and explore places that are not the primary aim of the destination. I think about mundane, boring, and usual places which were alongside while traveling to the main point. Whenever I go, I always think about the vast, peculiar spaces of my surroundings. It does not matter whether I am riding my car, moving by train, or flying on a plane. When on the trip, I always think about remote, passing by places, and wonder why we can’t stop here and take a look around. I often feel hunger for such sightseeing. I am still curious about what’s behind that vast forest, which I see in front of me. Or, I try to imagine how big is the district of the city, and how do look the inhabitant’s daily routine in this place.
Like I wrote before, I always possess the need to ask myself such kinds of questions.
The worst thing is that I know that it is impossible to explore in detail all the places on our earth. Thus, I know that my need is only daydreaming. Of course, we can visit, let’s say one hundred countries during our lifetime. But, after sightseeing them: can we honestly say that we saw ALL the exciting things? I doubt it.
I am sure that every our doings to see all the marvelous places on our planet are not able to be accomplished. Why?
I will give two examples:
1) Sightseeing of Siberia by Trans-Siberian Railway. Even if we make such a fabulous trip: can we say that we saw the whole of Siberia? The answer you will find on the map.
2) Seasons. In general, we have four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, and winter). My conscientious and detailed, observing almost every corner of the streets of Warsaw proved to me that all places look different when we have another season.
Moreover, I would say that the streets of Warsaw look much differently each month.
Now, by taking into consideration points no. 1 and 2, can you imagine sightseeing the whole of Siberia during all four seasons? I will leave you, my Dear Friend, with this question. I hope that you understand why I always come back from the trips with somehow nostalgic memories and some sorrow. The fact is that I know that the more I sightseeing, the more I am aware that I will never see all the places during my lifetime.
In conclusion, I want to state that all these things which I write do not tell us: do not travel. Contrary, we should move as much as possible. But, during the travel, we ought to possess mind and eyes wide open.
