Since the beginning of humankind, people are fascinated continuously by everything that is the best, the biggest, the longest, the deepest, etc. Of course, no wonder that the winners take it all.
Those who had won remained in the memory of descendants. Thus, it is quite apparent that mostly the winners made a history. It is the champions who are writing history.
Moreover, we, the people, are fascinated not only by the winners but also with everything that is “most.” For ages, people wanted to explore the farthest stars of our universe, climb the highest mountain, explore the most enormous and the most in-depth oceans, build the most significant and wealthiest countries, cities, etc. I believe that today, this phenomenon is only increasing. We see advertisements on the Internet and TV who continually want to tell us: you have to be rich to become someone, with whom other people will count. If you don’t manage to do that, others will not respect you, etc.
Going further, if you’re going to be someone, you have to buy the most expensive holidays in the most luxurious hotel. Speaking shortly: if you are the rich, you are the best. If you want fame, you must purchase a new sports car, because its the best. Nowadays, people always want to be the best, etc. For me, in general, it’s OK.
I also want to become a famous artist. But it is not the aim of my artistic activity. Having good fun while creating, producing images, and texts until the end of my life and constant mental and creative development is the key to success for me.
During our journey, along our way to becoming the best, we often forget and do not notice other astonishing people, and things. What I mean is that we are not focusing on all aspects which are not the best, but usual and mundane. I am convinced that we omit a lot of unique things during our journey to heaven. My photography could be an example of how we can still see the beauty in ordinary places.
Last time I decided not to take part in photography contests. Someone malignant would say that I resign because I do not have a chance to win. Maybe. But, in general, I am focusing only on my website, and I don ‘t care for today if my page is recognizable all over the world or not. I am not focusing on being the best but on the development.
Moreover, I don’t care about the numbers which are on this site. I want to possess a peaceful life, without the blinding lights of a flash of paparazzi. I do not want to be in the center of the events (same as Beksinski, in contrast to Dali). Speaking shortly: I want to focus on art creation and running this website. My dream is to inspire and empower other people also to create art.
Moreover, I want to read books written by smarter people than me and spend a peaceful life with my Kamilka. I do not need any additional splendor to fulfill my dreams and to be happy. I want to remain Adam Mazek and not aiming to be the best photographer, but to help others by inspiring them.
