“Sir, you are hot.”

I wrote this text on the 18th of December, 2022. While doing street photography on Warsaw’s streets that day, I heard, “Sir, you are hot” from one of the passersby I met.

I heard it from the guy standing near the Sluzewiec Railway Station and drinking a beer. The stranger was clad in winter clothes. I replied only, “Thank you,” and went further to do my job, which is street photography. How cold was it on that day? It was -4 degrees Celsius (24,8 degrees Celsius). Snow lingered on the streets of Warsaw. How many footsteps did I take? Ten thousand and five hundred. Undoubtedly, it is difficult to take so many footsteps in such weather wearing summer clothes (including the www.adammazek.com t-shirt) with only a winter cap and gloves. I did not even have winter boots, but sneakers. Was the statement “Sir, you are hot” the only comment I heard during this walk? No, I also listened to the question from the group of children. They asked me something like this:

Aren’t you cold, Sir?

Still, I decided to describe this event in the future. I am monotonous. I must admit. Still, what can I do when I am constantly euphoric thanks to exposing my body to cold. I wrote this text after walking and watching the Mundial 2022 final in the battle between Argentina and France (Argentinians won). Still, I did it before taking a cold shower. It will be the second time during a day that I feel cold. Did I mention that water in winter is much colder than in summer? Undoubtedly, it is pretty natural. Still, the truth is that pouring freezing water when there are frigid temperatures outside for more than a week is a tough challenge. I chose the way of challenges in my life. That’s why I do intermittent fasting and expose my body, sometimes twice daily.
