Today I will compare Social media v.s. Reality. The fact is that I do not have many followers on Instagram.
Moreover, I do not receive many “likes” both on Facebook and Instagram. Are these facts upsetting me? No. I genuinely do not care how many “likes” I receive on my social media profiles. Also, I am neutral in terms of how many followers I possess on Instagram. These are issues that no one ever remembers.
Moreover, I am convinced that no one will analyze this fact one hundred years after my death.
One of the aims of my artistic activity is to become world-famous, but not during my lifetime. I want to become recognizable later on, many years after I would go forever out of this world. Current virtual “likes” or “dislikes” of all the things I publish do not bother me at all.
Is that mean that the opinion of other people, that is, your family, friends, or fans do not bother you either?Â
The opinion provided by my beloved Kamilka, family, friends, and fans, of course, interests me. The difference between the “Social media v.s. Reality” challenge is the fact I am always keen to listen to any opinions when they are spoken to me, in my face. Why? Because I do not want to lose contact with reality. Ideas provided by humans, made of flesh, face to face, is crucial to me. The fact is that I often hear many comments that were said to me; they were not written on any social media profile. Hearing opinions from others is a much more enjoyable and essential experience than reading comments on the Internet.
The aim of my artistic activity is not receiving virtual numbers on social media web sites. I somehow feel sorry for artists who devote their energy to receive as many “likes” as possible. For me, they are wasting their precious time and energy, focusing on social media web sites.
