Song of my childhood.

February 19, 2024 by Adam Mazek

Last time, YouTube’s algorithms reminded me of the song of my childhood.

What is the name of the song, and who sang it? I will write shortly: the music of my childhood is Maggie Reilly’s “Every Time We Touch.” When I heard within the last days (I wrote this text on the 20th of December, 2022), for the first time in more than a year, in my imagination appeared views from my hometown, Malkinia Gorna. I saw myself playing, running, and having fun with other children. Many faces appeared in my childhood memories. Indeed, Maggie Reilly’s “Every Time We Touch” song reminded me of the magical and beautiful years of my first years of living. I cannot imagine a more cheerful childhood than all the years spent in Malkinia Gorna.

He who decided (God?) that I was born in 1985 in Olesno (Opolskie Voivodeship), Poland, and moved to Malkinia Gorna (Mazovian Voivodeship) in 1986 made an excellent choice for me.

Of course, I know my beloved parents decided to move to Malkinia Gorna. However, still, I do not know how lucky I was to be born in this particular period in this place. The “Every Time We Touch” tune touches my childish memories. It reminds me that I have everything to move mountains to change the world, first of all, by changing my attitude towards it. It gives me power and faith for a better tomorrow. I know it is impossible that every time everything will get better, as The Beatles sang in their fantastic song “Getting Better.” Maggie Reilly’s song from my childhood is from 1992. I was seven years old when a female British artist released this tune. I am not surprised that it evokes many memories in my mind. After all, I heard this tune many times on Polish radio stations. I will listen to it now and sleep.
