This post won’t be about one of the greatest albums in music’s history, The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”
The last time when I was doing street photography (I wrote this text on the 24th of March, 2023), one lady said to me: “Spring is coming, Sgt.” I do not have to mention that it was a cold day. It was 6 degrees Celsius (42,8 degrees Fahrenheit). I was wearing summer clothes, including the www.adammazek.com t-shirt. I did not have a winter cap or gloves. I will be brutally honest. I do not know why the lady named me “Sergeant.” Because I walked confidently straight and upright with my head raised high? Or, maybe I looked like a member of the Fab Four band. I don’t know. What I know is that I smiled and confirmed to her that, indeed, spring was coming. It was not the first time strangers talked to me, commenting that I walked in summer clothes during frigid temperatures. Does it surprise me?
No. I expect more comments within the upcoming years. Do I care about such statements? No.
I generally accept them and walk further because I have my street photographic job to do. Indeed, I practically always smile to myself when I hear comments regarding my summer clothes in the middle of autumn or winter. In today’s post, I want to emphasize the childish joy (I suppose their name is endorphins) running through my veins each time I walk and take pictures on Warsaw’s streets.
This issue has remained the same since I started doing street photography regularly in October 2015. Did I mention in this text that spring, indeed, was coming? How happy I am that I will be able to stroll and do street photography during the beautiful spring. I must state it clearly: I love all seasons, even hot summer days.
