While walking and doing street photography on April 7th (the day I wrote this text), I thought to myself, “Spring is coming.”
When I was walking through my beloved Mokotow, I simply enjoyed the fact that spring was coming. For me, it is impossible not to cherish spring, blooming and blossoming flowers, and long days, even if I love the chill and frost of winter all the time anyway. In the post, when spring should take the primary place, I want to stress that I love freezing winter. I wrote many times that I love walking in summer clothes and exposing my body to frigid temperatures during the coldest period of the year. Undoubtedly, it is alive during short and dark wintery days.
For many years, I disliked winter.
Today, I can say I cherish all seasons. I will try to forget the winter and focus on the upcoming spring. I believe most of the people enjoy watching how the nature awakes. Undoubtedly, it is a moment when most of us transform into photographers who want to eternalize these sights and share them with others (e.g., via social media). While walking, I had similar feelings. I wanted to take pictures with my iPhone and share them with other people. Still, I did not do it. Why? Because I wanted to answer myself on the quesion of why I should do it.
The only answer was that I was tremendously happy that spring was coming.
The answer was too cliche for me. Also, I tend not to present my pictures in the present time. I do it only when I take selfies showing I wear my t-shirt and when temperatures are frigid. While writing all these things, I realized April and May can be truly cold in Poland. That’s why I hope I will be able to cool down my body by ending the Fall/Winter 2023/2024 season of walking in summer clothes in frigid temperatures.
