Stabilization

April 3, 2021 by Adam Mazek

I often wonder whether stabilization is a positive or negative state of one’s mind.

The conclusion for me is, as usual, ambiguous. I believe that whether stabilization is a positive or negative state of mind depends on and relates to every person in a specific period. For me, for example, stabilization is something that I look into in my life. I need it to possess a free mind to create new things (photographs, texts, etc.).

Nevertheless, when I reach the state of being stabilized (e.g., emotionally, financially), the pace of creating new things slows down a bit. I sometimes hear that the best artist is the starving artist. Generally, I do not agree with that statement, but there can be a little bit of truth in this declaration. For me, the state of being in stabilization is, indeed, a little bit tricky. When I do not have stabilization (e.g., in my work office), I make an effort to reach the titled state. Still, when I accomplish my task, when I feel relaxed, calm, and stabilized, my willingness to create new works of art (e.g., like „Earth Wars” or a subsequent edition of „Diaries”) drops down a little bit.

One of the conclusions of this writing is that I will undoubtedly never possess a state of mind from which I will be satisfied in 100%.

When I do not have stabilization in my life, I do a lot of things to find it. Unfortunately, when I reach this particular state, I usually realize that being in this mood state is not necessarily proper for me and my artistic activity. What advice can I give to all the people, including myself? I think it is to accept the feeling that there will always be something to change in our life to improve. The fact is that real stabilization is maybe waiting for us, but it will reach us probably after our death.
