A few days ago, I decided to betray my favorite publishing house, Taschen, on behalf of Phaidon. I bought Mark Holborn’s “Sun and Moon.” I wrote this post on the 29th of September, 2019.
Did I start to read the book immediately after buying it? Within a couple of days, I read the only foreword. The fact is that I still possess a lot of Taschen books. They are waiting for their turn to be read. Nevertheless, I am convinced that reading and analyzing “Sun and Moon” will provide to me practically the same magnificent feelings as reading Fyodor Dostoevski’s, Stanislaw Lem’s, or Taschen books. Sometimes I feel that the more I get older, the more I am curious regarding surrounding us reality. Is also includes everything that’s beyond our visible world, that is the universe. Thus, I love to read about cosmos, about spaceships travels, moon-landing, or science-fiction novels. Such books provide me a lot of joy and analysis, which undoubtedly, practically all the time, impact my creativeness.
Exploring the universe, whether by actual spaceships as it was done by Apollo 11 crew or in writers’ imagination, is one of the tremendous things humans ever performed.
Thus, I do not doubt that reading Phaidon “Sun and moon” will also provide me a lot of incentives and knowledge. Books, which possess the highest level of science-art-historical facts, illustrated with the excellent photographs and images, is a feast for the eye. Still, the fact is that I already dip into Phaidon book’s illustrations. I must admit that they are truly inspiring. The truth is that I previously described one of the examples in the “Red Planet” post. Such albums provide a lot of signals to move forward with my passion, including photography, writing, reading, walking, and designing books, which is my “Diaries.”
Ok, I finish writing. “Sun and moon” lies in front of my eyes, I and want to start exploring new horizons. I have no doubts that this book will become my next torch, which will show me the way within the darkness which surrounds us.
