Terror for the construction workers

Sometimes I feel that I carry terror for construction workers.

Like you already noticed, my Dear Friend, I love street photography. Moreover, I like to wander through the streets of Warsaw and discover for myself usual, mundane, and dreary places. For me, the surroundings of many construction sites are one of the best places to take photographs. Usually, there is a mess in its neighborhood. For me, this mess is potentially an excellent object to photograph. I also like to analyze and observe the raw and unfinished buildings. Moreover, on the building site, we can find tonnes of sand formed in shapes similar to pyramids. So why do I bring terror for workers?

The fact is that when the artist is present, the builders are confused. They often watch me furtively with suspicion in their eyes.

Sometimes I wonder if they think that I am a local reporter, a potential buyer of the estate or construction site’s inspector. They do not ask me any questions, in opposite to some other usual passers-by. By the way, if strangers ask me why I do photographs in their neighborhood, I always say that I love Warsaw, and I want to immortalize every piece of this city. It is the truth.

Nevertheless, when I am near the building site, I feel like an alien a little bit.

A similar situation alike with construction workers is with guards. They, too, always stare at me conspicuously. Maybe they think that I am a burglar, for example? Perhaps. But, what I could steal from the construction site? Bricks, gloves, or a cement mixer? No one knows. The fact is that I am somehow an intruder for them. But, I try not to overthink it. I am focusing on my passion. Eventually, I want to take pictures of the places which surround us and reinterpret them in my visual language.
