Recently (I wrote this text on the 19th of October, 2024), I noticed that from 2018 to 2024, I was taking pictures on the streets of Warsaw on the 16th of October.
This text is a testament to this curious pattern in my photographic activities. It is undoubtedly influenced by the fact that it is the end of the month, after which the days will be shorter in Poland. I would treat this text as a curiosity regarding photographic activities. The truth is that the season of taking photos straight after my office work is slowly ending. However, I choose to see this as an opportunity to capture the unique beauty of the changing seasons.
I think I will be more focused on writing during the upcoming months, but I’m excited to see how the cold weather will transform the streets of Warsaw.
I switch my mindset to the positive aspects of my existence. I won’t be complaining that during the following months, I will be doing street photography less frequently. Contrary. I will be grateful that I should have more time and energy for writing. Moreover, cold fall and winter seasons have some significant advantages. You will undoubtedly know what I mean if you read my blog, my Dear Friend. How happy I am that I will be able to expose my body to cold temperatures during the coming months.
How do I do it?
I do it by wearing summer clothes (including the www.adammazek.com t-shirt) while walking (and doing street photography) in frigid temperatures. The novelty for me will be the fact that I will also be doing it while rucking. What is rucking? It is walking with a heavy rucksack (I walk with an additional 12 kg [26 lbs] of barbell plates). Today, and on the 16th of October, I was also doing all the abovementioned things. The 16th of October reminds me of the inevitable season’s change and that I must adjust to a new, cold reality. While writing all these things, I started to wonder how many such seasonal changes I will be able to experience in the future. But I find joy in this adaptation, knowing that each change brings new opportunities and experiences.
