What if doing nothing could be considered an art?
I am not sure, but I think it was John Lennon who made art by doing nothing. In one of the most tremendous Beatles’ songs, entitled “I’m Only Sleeping,” he greatly articulated it. In today’s post, I could be wrong. I must admit I did not read too much about John Lennon. Still, another song, “Watching The Wheels,” also proves that one of the greatest British singers was a fan of doing zero. Undoubtedly, while doing nothing, great things can spontaneously appear in one’s mind. I wrote many times here, on the www.adammazek.com website, that relaxing and resting are as crucial as working hard. Today (I wrote this text on the 17th of April, 2023), I do not want to discourage you, my Dear Friend, from working hard. Keep doing it.
Still, remember that while doing nothing, great inventions can appear in one’s mind.
Sleep is one of the most fundamental activities we have. Sleep as much as possible. Lack of sleep kills in the same way as lack of water. Do not neglect your sleeping behaviors. Treat it as an investment. I met many people who were proud of themselves that they did not need too much sleep. And you know what, my Dear Friend? They did not look healthy. They looked tired and suffering. Even if they told me they were OK, their eyes seemed to say the opposite.
Do nothing, my Dear Friend, for the sake of doing nothing. Relax, chill, lie on your couch, nap, read a book, contemplate, do nothing, and do not hurry. Is relaxation more crucial than hard work? Perhaps it is. After all, without doing nothing and getting bored, there won’t be excellent hard work because people will be exhausted sooner or later (in this case, rather sooner). Their efficiency and effectiveness will be close to null.
