Is humanity going to battle for the Moon?
I can imagine that one of the leaders of the USA, China, or Russia will finally say out loud that whoever rules space rules the Earth. Moreover, I can imagine that the key to victory or having an advantage over the opponent will be controlling the Earth’s satellite. In my science-fiction vision, I can imagine human civilization fighting for space resources, e.g., from asteroid 16 Psyche or planet Mars. Like Stanley Kubrick’s movie, entitled „2001: A Space Odyssey,” Moon will become a space hub for other spaceships to explore the Universe. Does that mean that only Americans have the right to the Earth’s satellite? I do not think so. I cannot imagine China or Russia giving up exploring outer space.
For today (I wrote this text on the 8th of December, 2021), the USA leads in the space race. Still, other countries (with China and Russia at the front, but we cannot forget about, e.g., India) will do everything to conquer not only Earth’s orbit but also other planets of the Solar system.
That’s why I think the battle for the Moon is a matter of time.
I was born in 1985. I hope that I will live one hundred years. Thus, there is a probability that I will die in 2085. Why do I write about this now? It is because I do not think that I will reach times when people will conquer Mars or there will be star wars for the space hub on the Moon.
Moreover, I hope I will not live during the battle for the Moon. The only thing I am convinced of is that country that will explore Earth’s atmosphere and conquer the Moon will dominate our planet. I keep my fingers crossed for the USA because I merely like this country, even if I know their geopolitical activities are sometimes harmful and controversial. Undoubtedly, it is a theme for a subsequent post.
