The Beatles’ influence.

November 8, 2023 by Adam Mazek

The more I hear rock or pop songs, the more I hear the Beatles’ influence on them.

David Bowie, Abba, Jethro Tull, and Michael Jackson are the first examples that come to mind. Still, as far as I remember, most of the singers I knew from their artistic activities stated that The Beatles band inspired them. Earlier, when I heard such information, I merely ignored it. Today, I do not ignore it. So what do I do in such a situation? I try to remind artists’ songs and find The Beatles’ influence there. I know I already wrote a post stating that when I hear David Bowie’s “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” album, I hear the Beatles’ “Abbey Road” album. The more I listen to the Beatles’ tunes, the less I am surprised that other artists were taking inspiration from the “Fab Four.”

For many years, the statement that the Beatles influenced the world of music and art was a cliche for me.

Today (I wrote this text on the 14th of September, 2022), I merely feel and hear this statement deep in myself. The more I feel the Beatles’ influence on other artists, the more I want to listen to their songs. I must admit that, for me, the first nine months of 2022 musically were marked by the Beatles’ songs. How happy I am that I still have some of the Beatles’ albums to discover for myself. When I hear their songs, I have the impression that singing and playing were, for them, childish play. I wonder how the Beatles’ tunes would influence my artistic activities. The truth is that I already wrote many posts about them, but not that much like about another British artist, David Bowie. I won’t recommend listening to the Beatles’ albums. Why? Because many of their songs you already know, my Dear Friend.
